Megan’s Favourite Met Gala Looks!

By May 17, 2024May 20th, 2024One Comment
Every year I am so excited to see what looks are created
for the Met Gala!
This year was certainly no different! I couldn’t wait to see everyone’s take on the dress code theme: The Garden of Time. Inspired by a short story of the same name written by J.G. Ballard and in conjunction with the exhibition “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion”.
There were so many interpretations of the dress code from luxurious floral garden to the sands of time. A spectacle of so many glorious couture looks it is so hard to choose just one favourite.
So I’ve picked five of my favourite looks to share with you all, I hope you will feel as inspired as I do seeing these incredibly creations!
Designer: Gaurav Gupta

1. Mindy Kaling

This dress is stunning and has to be my favourite from the night! The structure and incredible craftsmanship that has gone into it is just beautiful! The back of the dress is actually a cape that can be removed and is shaped into a flower that is slowly wilting.

Designer: Tamara Ralph

2. Jessica Biel

I am just obsessed with the colour of this dress – how I wish it was hanging in my closet! Covered in delicate petals, this dress is the epitome of a blooming garden.

Designer: Balenciaga

3. Nicole Kidman

Honouring a Balenciaga dress from the 1950s, this recreation was such a showstopper! As the gala was thrown in honour of the exhibition, Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion – which is dedicated to the preservation of historical garment and giving them new life – it was wonderful to see a dress honouring past fashion.

Designer: Swarovski

4. Giovanna Engelbert

This dress, along with four others, were the very FIRST Swarovski couture! How amazing is that? All designed by Giovanna herself and each dress a different element. Her gorgeous emerald dress looks like something magical and I cannot stop obsessing over every tiny detail!

Designer: Iris Van Herpen

5. Mona Patel

Now this dress was spectacular! The butterflies on her arm actually move – you can see them in action here! The sleek dress is such an incredible creation, I am just blown away by the work that has gone into creating this amazing piece.

Mindy Kaling’s dress is beautiful, I had not seen it until now. And agreed, the coral pink watermelon color of Jessica Biel’s is beautiful. It also looks like a dress you’d wear. Love this blog post, thanks
