Seeing the pieces that LEO LIN has created in collaboration with myself and Barbie™ has me unable to stop smiling—I just know that my five year old self is squealing at the top of her lungs at the sight of this stunning capsule collection inspired by my new book Barbie: A Fashion Icon.
Seeing these beautiful pieces in person and being able to capture them in my signature art style was such a dream. And these illustrations have been turned into a beautiful scarf that is included as a gift with purchase for any customer who purchases from the capsule collection.
I have drawn Barbie in every era of her fashion life, but I have never seen her step off the page quite like this. For me it has been a dream come true to collaborate with Leo on this collection. I’ve worn his designs for so many years and it has been an honour to work with him to bring this dream of a Barbie capsule collection to life and I can’t wait to wear every piece that he has created inspired by my new book!
A sculptural bow motif is present in each piece from the large statement bow on the Chelsea Mini to the delicate hand sewn bows on the Marisol and Liana Dress as well as the stylish Annika Blazer. Leo has captured the essence of Barbie and it has been incredible working together. This beautiful capsule collection celebrates reverence for Barbie as an enduring symbol of style, imagination and self-expression.
