Must see & do in Dubai with Megan Hess

Dubai is truly like nowhere else in the world! There is so much to see, do and experience – it is unbelievable. Dubai is always the first stop on my international book tour and I am always so blown away by the extraordinary hospitality and extravagance of each and every event. Zahirah and the incredible team at Think Liquorice always go above and beyond. For the launch of my book, Iconic: The Masters of Italian Fashion, the beautiful event space at the Fairmont the Palm was transformed into an Italian oasis! But something I will never forget was for the launch of New York: Through a Fashion Eye. The team organised to have an iconic New York yellow cab brought into the event amongst pretzel stands and subway signs. Even the cake was a chic yellow cab! Dreams brought to reality…

Stay – After a very, very long flight from Australia, arriving in Dubai and heading straight to the Fairmont the Palm curbs any sort of jet lag. Located right on the water in Palm Jumeirah, the luxurious Fairmont has everything you need to unwind; the spa is just heavenly before spending the day relaxing by the pool then the hard part – deciding which of the mouth-watering restaurants to eat at…

Eat – Dubai really does have some of the best restaurants in the world where you can experience virtually all of the cuisines of the world! The lobster linguine at Bistro Bagatelle is one of the tastiest dishes I’ve ever had the pleasure of trying and the Paneer Tikka Masala at the exceptional Little Miss India can do no wrong in my eyes!

Shop – It’s very hard to not stop at the Dubai Mall whenever I travel to Dubai and with very good reason! Not only does it have over 1300 stores, but you can also stay at one of the multiple hotels, travel to the top of the world’s tallest building, the Burj Khalifa, go ice skating, see a movie or even an opera! All within the Dubai Mall, how amazing!

See – Dubai is really all about the experiences. One Dubai experience that I’ll definitely never forget was the most magical picnic dinner in the middle of the Arabian desert. We dined under the clearest night sky, enjoying a magnificent feast organised by Arabian Glamping. The setting was like something straight from a movie. Unforgettable.
