Must see & do in Milan with Megan Hess
I have so many beautiful memories and experiences in Milan. A true career highlight was working with Fendi on the SS18 Collection. It started with sketching live at their show in Milan Fashion Week – then it was creating a series of illustrations based on the collection and then it was turning that into an animated piece. The campaign was global so it was incredibly exciting, I loved every second of it.

The beautiful facades of Milan make for the perfect backdrop
Stay – Milan has so many historic and beautiful places to stay. One of my favourites is the Palazzo Parigi, one of the city’s grandest hotels. The rooms are fitted with antique furniture, sculptures and works of art, from French 19th-century oil paintings to Art Nouveau marble statues – like you’ve been transported straight to a Milanese opera! The Bulgari Hotel is also not to be missed! The iconic hotel is situated just a few steps from Via Montenapoleone’s luxury shopping quarters and has the most beautiful gardens, an extension of the nearby Botanical Garden, where you can dine and enjoy the tranquility of the stunning space.
Eat – So Italy is obviously the home of mouth-watering pizza and pasta and Milan is no exception to that! Dongio serves up some of the most delectable Calabrian pasta dishes I have ever tasted, all set out in a traditional trattoria. For something a bit more modern, Nebbia pairs exquisite natural wines with a seasonal Lombardian inspired menu.
Shop – I can never pass up a visit to 10 Corso Como while in Milan! The extraordinary concept store not only has a tremendous selection of books, homewares and fashion but a gorgeous gallery, cafe and hotel – you can really spend a whole day admiring every inch of the beautiful space.
Must see – Everyone MUST see the Duomo di Milano, one of the most awe-inspiring Cathedrals in the world. But for something a bit more luxurious, spend the day at the QC Termemilano spa. This Roman-style thermal baths and wellness centre is all about utter relaxation. You will lose track of time wandering from room to room, enjoying the several saunas, warm and cold baths, geyser pools, a Jacuzzi waterfall and elegant tea room surrounded by Roman ruins.
