World Book Day is nearly here!
What is World Book Day? It is an annual event – also known as International Book day – that is celebrated annually on the 23rd April. The event was organised by UNESCO to promote reading around the world – such a wonderful initiative!
I’ve always been an avid reader – what is better than sitting down on the lounge with a delicious cup of tea, a snack and a good book?
Today I am sharing some of my favourites – many of these have inspired me on my journey (well, perhaps not the murder mysteries!) both as an artist and story teller.
I highly recommend doing as I do and brewing yourself a delicious cup of tea – or coffee – and bunkering down so you can lose yourself in the joy that is a good book!
Untamed
Glennon Doyle
Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland
Lewis Carroll
The Paris Apartment
Lucy Foley
These are just a few of my favourites…I fear my favourites list is always constantly growing! I cannot go past an Edith Wharton novel…the scandal and drama behind those in the upper class during the “Gilded Age” of America never ceases to fascinate me.
I love a good mystery. Lucy Foley’s mysteries have kept me guessing and they have been such a joy to read – I’ve been recommending them to everyone!
If you aren’t up for a mystery or an exciting adventure with Alice or Eloise, Untamed or Creative Visualization might be for you. Both of these were incredible journey’s for me as a reader.
Whether it be a story for my imagination or my soul, it is always an unparalleled pleasure to sit down with a book!
Eloise
Kay Thompson
The Age of Innocence
Edith Wharton
Creative Visualization
Shakti Gawain
